【摘要】:1ObjectivesThisInternationalStandardpresentsmethodsfortheexperimentalplanningoffatiguetestingandthestatisticalanalysisoftheresultingdata.Thepurposeistodeterminethefatiguepropertiesofmetallicmaterialswithbothahighdegreeofconfidenceandapracticalnumberofspecimens.2FatiguepropertiestobeanalysedThisInternationalStandardprovidesamethodfortheanalysisoffatiguelifepropertiesatavarietyofstresslevelsusingarelationshipthatcanlinearlyapproximatethematerial'sresponseinappropriatecoordinates.Specifically,itaddresses:a)thefatiguelifeforagivenstress,andb)thefatiguestrengthforagivenfatiguelife.Theterm"stress"inthisInternationalStandardcanbereplacedby"strain",asthemethodsdescribedarealsovalidfortheanalysisoflifepropertiesasafunctionofstrain.Fatiguestrengthinthecaseofstrain-controlledtestsisconsideredintermsofstrain,asitisordinarilyunderstoodintermsofstressinstress-controlledtests.3LimitofapplicationThisInternationalStandardislimitedtotheanalysisoffatiguedataformaterialsexhibitinghomogeneousbehaviourduetoasinglemechanismoffatiguefailure.Thisreferstothestatisticalpropertiesoftestresultsthatarecloselyrelatedtomaterialbehaviourunderthetestconditions.Infact,specimensofagivenmaterialtestedunderdifferentconditionsmayrevealvariationsinfailuremechanisms.Forordinarycases,thestatisticalpropertyofresultingdatarepresentsonefailuremechanismandmaypermitdirectanalysis.Conversely,situationsareencounteredwherethestatisticalbehaviourisnothomogeneous.Itisnecessaryforallsuchcasestobemodelledbytwoormoreindividualdistributions.Anexampleofsuchbehaviourisoftenobservedwhenfailurecaninitiatefromeitherasurfaceorinternalsiteatthesamelevelofstress.Undertheseconditions,thedatawillhavemixedstatisticalcharacteristicscorrespondingtothedifferentmechanismsoffailure.ThesetypesofresultsarenotconsideredinthisInternationalStandardbecauseamuchhighercomplexityofanalysisisrequired.
